Introduzione- Introduction

Vincent Sirianni was born on May 25, 1923 in Gizzeria, Italy.  With his father, Luigi Sirianni, working to support the family from Bellevue, Pa., Vince spent his childhood in the company of his mother and their extended family in Italy. In 1933, Vince, his younger brother, and his mother left Italy and joined Luigi in America. Just ten years later in 1943, Vince was drafted to serve his newfound homeland as an American soldier in World War II.   Like countless other Italian Americans of this era, the Second World War would lead him away from his home in America and back to his paese (village) in Italy.
